The editorial board of the journal “Altaistics, Turkology, Mongolistics” is guided in its work by the international ethical rules of scientific publications, following the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, the Publishing Ethics Resource Kit published by Elsevier, as well as recommendations of the National Center of Expertise “Pharmacy of Kazakhstan” (http://pharmkaz.kz/glavnaya/etics_science_public/)

Responsibilities of editors and editorial board

In their activities, members of the editorial board of the journal are responsible for the publication of works of authorship, which entails the need to follow the following fundamental principles:

  • The editor and editorial staff should be responsible for everything that is published in the journal.
  • When deciding on publication, the editors of the journal are guided by the reliability of the data presented and the scientific significance of the work in question.
  • Editorial staff should have no conflict of interest in relation to articles they reject or accept.
  • Editorial staff of the journal are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal will be accepted for publication and which will be rejected.
  • Editorial staff should not allow information to be published if there are sufficient grounds to believe that it is plagiarism.
  • Editorial staff and members of the editorial board of the journal must ensure the confidentiality of names and other information concerning the expert.
  • When working with unpublished materials, all members of the editorial board must comply with the requirements of the fundamental documents in the field of information protection, namely, the personal data of authors and reviewers.
  • The manuscript submitted for examination should be considered as a document with the property of confidentiality.

Responsibilities of the author of a scientific publication

Submission of an article for consideration to the editorial board of the journal implies that it contains new scientific results obtained by the author (a group of authors), which have not been published anywhere before. Authors should be aware that they are personally responsible for the provided text of the manuscript and comply with the following principles:

  • Provide reliable results of the work done and objective discussion of the research.
  • Ensure that the research results presented in the manuscript are independent and original work. In the case of using fragments of other people’s works and/or borrowing statements from other authors, the article must contain bibliographic references with the obligatory indication of the author and the original source. Plagiarism in any form (unformed quotes, paraphrasing or appropriation of rights to the results of someone else’s research) is unethical and unacceptable.
  • The author is obliged to immediately notify the editor if he/she finds a material error or inaccuracy in his published work and to provide assistance in eliminating or correcting the error.
  • All those who have made significant contributions to the writing of the manuscript should be listed as co-authors. The author (first) must familiarize all co-authors with the final version of the article, get their approval and consent to its submission for publication. All authors named in the article should be responsible for the content of the article.

Responsibilities of the reviewer

The reviewer carries out scientific expertise of copyright materials. His/her actions must be impartial, in compliance with the following principles:

  • The peer review should help the author to improve the quality of the text of the article, and the editorial staff is responsible for making a decision on publication.
  • Any manuscript received for review is a confidential document.
  • The reviewer must be objective and express his/her opinion clearly and reasonably.
  • The reviewer should not use the information and ideas from the article submitted to him/her for review for personal gain, respecting the confidentiality of this information and ideas.
  • The reviewer should not accept for consideration the manuscript in the presence of a conflict of interest caused by competition, cooperation or other relationships with any authors or organizations associated with the article.

Review process

  • All manuscripts submitted to the editorial office undergo a mandatory check for plagiarism (including self-plagiarism). Authors are obliged to warn about any possible duplicate publications and to refer to them.
  • All manuscripts submitted to the editorial office go through a secret (anonymous) review system.
  • As reviewers, specialists on the subject of materials submitted for examination.
  • The editorial board, based on the opinion of the reviewers, makes a decision on the publication of the received materials. If necessary, manuscripts are sent back to the authors for revision. In case of receiving a negative review, the editors have the right to reject the materials.
  • The editorial staff sends review or a motivated letter from the author of the manuscript about the acceptance or rejection of the material.

Open Access Policy

  • This journal is an open access journal, i.e. its content is freely available and free of charge to any user (individual or entity) (Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 Worldwide). Users are allowed to read, download, distribute, copy, print, search or refer to the full text of documents, their use or for any other lawful purpose, without obtaining prior permission from the publisher or author. The editorial board adheres to these rules in accordance with the guidelines of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (2002).



Plagiarism checker

 Articles in Russian are preliminarily checked in the Antiplagiarism system, articles in English in the PlagScan system and then they are submitted for review in case of a satisfactory result.

Self-citation is the use of fragments of your own text published in other works earlier in the text of an article is considered acceptable in the following cases:

  • up to 80% of your own text, from the text of the report at the conference, published in the conference materials, if no more than 2 years have passed since the conference,
  • up to 30% from the text of their publications (article in another or the same edition, monograph), if no more than 10 years have passed since the publication of the article.

We invite you to subscribe to the printed copies of our journal, which we issue immediately after the publication of each new issue. Please note: the subscription is made only in the editorial office.

Format of printed copies of the magazine: color cover, soft glue binding, binding, format 210 × 292, offset paper 80 mg, color printing (all pages).

Authors of the journal receive copies for free.
